ooops

I just found like 20 comments which I had failed to publish over about 4 months.  It's not my fault, Blogger is acting really quirky for me lately.  I apologize if your comment didn't get published, I only delete comments that will get me sued so please don't think I was selectively culling stuff....especially if you were bitching at me....I actually live for those.

Preach Vitty Preach

This is exactly what I was worried about from the beginning, Feinberg's payments are being negotiated on a month to month basis.  That is a commission based model.  It's fucking ridiculously corrupt.

I can't believe we're turning to Vitty Cent for true dats but I'll take what I can get.

Dear Ken

I know you've been kissing that other girl on the playground (initials B.P.) but I very, very, very, very, very much still love you with all my heart.  I know you really love me and I know you're trying to do the right thing and I believe everything you tell me....I know you would never lie to me.  I don't care what all the other girls say about you or who you hang out with when you're not with me.  I know in your heart that I am the only one for you.  You are so strong, the way you point your finger at everyone and tell them how it's your way or the highway, or how you subtly threaten them with gossip, or how your bruiser buddies come in and do the dirty work.  You're so cool!   I'd do anything you tell me...really....anything.... ;)

xxxoooxxx All my Love xxxoooxxx,

FY.....eehhh

They don't even deserve the full FYYFF....really...it's fucking Newsweek.  They've become even more redundant than...well....never mind.

America's Dying Cities

I'm actually going to lift my FB post on this one as I don't think much of anything Newsweek says deserves too much attention:

A dying magazine in a dying empire proclaims New Orleans the #1 dying city in America. A note to Newsweek...this city is no stranger to death, in fact we celebrate it. We were here before this country was born and we will be here after it's gone....and Newsweek probably won't be here by this time next year.

That pretty much says it all.  Oh...and I'm not really sure I'm happy we're being called an American city.  I haven't felt too American since Katrina and I certainly don't feel like I'm dying.

It's Mardi Gras season in my town....what's going on in your shitty suburb?  Coach Payton?

Guidepost Solutions....

...they take a post and guide it right up your arse.

Being investigated by Guidepost Solutions and the GCCF? The media is listening…

Once again, Drake is on this story like stinky on dooky...and there's a lot of stinky:

Some claimants who have applied for the quick pay from the GCCF, an application the GCCF stated would be automatic for people who had received an EAP and would require no further review, have suddenly found their EAP’s under investigation for fraud.

You see the pattern?  This is exactly what I was worried about.  If your neighbor filed a claim, then you find out he is being investigated for fraud after filing the claim...what are you going to do?

Is there anyone out there who doubts that Feinberg is nothing more than a schill?  Anyone?

The Big Crash, Part 3: A Tangled Web

Hey folks, Part 3 of the Big Crash is out:

The Big Crash, Part 3:  A Tangled Web

This is by far the most important installment in the series.  It examines the conflict between the Clerk of Court and the judges of Civil District Court to retain money and control of the Courts' systems in the wake of Act 621.  It takes a while to digest, I know it's not easy to get through but I can't stress how important it is to understand what is going on with the judges of Civil District Court and the Clerk of Court.  So if you can carve about 30 minutes out of your day, please sit down and absorb A Tangled Web.

Thanks and any commentary on HB or AZ is welcome....but if it's venom unleash it here on AZ....let's keep the nastiness where it belongs :) .

A Hybrid?

More like a chimera.  From the NYT:

Fund Official Not Neutral, Judge Rules

This post is like one of those sitcom episodes where they flashback to old memories so they don't have to shoot a new episode.  Let's flash back:

American Zombie: Love is in the Air

and then this:

American Zombie: Feinberg has contracts with other Big Oil Companies?

And in case you haven't been paying attention to the counter spin in camp BP/Feinberg...look at this headline...and keep in mind that most people just read headlines, not stories:

Gulf Oil Spill Fund Fraudulent Claims Top 7,000

Ok...over 7000...then when you actually read the story:

Attorney Kenneth Feinberg, who is overseeing the Gulf Coast Claims Facility, said of more than 481,000 claims filed, 7,575 are considered potentially fraudulent. The Justice Department has already indicted eight claimants.

Eight out of 7,575 have been prosecuted....and the headline suggests over 7,000 claims ARE fraudulent....not suspected to be...it says over 7,000 ARE fucking fraudulent.  And what constitutes the "potential fraud"?  Inadequate paperwork, perhaps?

He called the program a success that has already paid out more than $3.3 billion to about 168,000 claimants. He said roughly half of all claims have been denied because of ineligibility or lack of documentation.

You see what's going on here?  Please tell me you do.  This whole thing is a Vaudeville side show and MSM critics bought and paid for by BP wrote the glowing reviews before the fucking curtain was even raised.

BP knew going into this that a large portion of these fisherman couldn't produce an accurate tax return which came close to representing their normal income.  These are people who live off the land (or ocean if you will)....they are what's left of the American frontier...the American dream.  Many of them couldn't even read a tax return, but they can fish and provide for themselves and their families....or rather they used to.  They do not fit in to "the machine" and therefore they are simply in the way.  It would seem the MSM, even local outlets, are more than willing to bow to their corporate masters and marginalize these good people into oblivion along with the health of the entire Gulf Coast ecosystem.  It sickens me...it enrages me.

One last flashback...Taibbi:

American Zombie: Yup

I have a friend from my small town in Kentucky who got her masters degree in journalism from the University of Missouri.  Mizzou is considered to be one of the best journalism schools in the country.  She told me on her first day of class one of her professors walked in the room and asked the class for a show of hands, "How many of you are here to become investigative journalists?"  She said less than half the students raised their hands.  The professor then said, "What the fuck are the rest of you here for?"

It's a good question.

Hey, there's always the AP.
